Dell has everything to be happy as the Dell Venue 8 7000 has managed to get notoriously popular among the blogosphere due to claims by Apple that the iPad Air 2 is the slimmest tablet in the market. The Venue 8 7000 actually own that title as it is only 6.0mm thick; the iPad Air 2 is 6.1mm thick. There is also a Hisense Vidaa Pad tablet which is also 6.1mm thick.
The Dell Venue 8 7000 has visited the FCC which means a release date is expected soon.

Going over the specs, the major talking point is the obvious – its 6mm thickness. Also expect a 8.4 inch 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution OLED display, powered by an Intel Atom Moorefield processor, Intel RealSense Snapshot camera, 21Wh battery capacity, a microSD card slot and a microUSB port. It is expected to come in Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + LTE model which will also come with a SIM card slot.
The Dell Venue 8 7000 is expected to be available in coming weeks for a $499 price tag.
