Initially there were talks of the Meizu M2 being announced alongside the Meizu MX5 however that did not happen. The M2 is expected to now be announced on July 29th with the device already being certified on TENAA in China.
Chinese online store, Tmall has jumped the gun by placing up the detailed Meizu M2 Specifications as well as pricing information. The device has been reportedly been pulled from store shelves according to multiple sources, why? We don’t know for now.
According to the listing, the Meizu M2 is priced at CNY 599 ($96) and would run Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. It sports a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) and is powered by a 64-bit quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor clocked at 1.3GHz with Mali-T720 MP2 GPU.
The chipset is paired with 2GB of RAM and has 16GB space of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 128GB). A 13MP camera with LED flash is available on the rear with a front facing 5MP camera for selfies and video chats on the front.
The Meizu M2 measures 8.7mm thick (full dimensions – 140.1 x 68.9 x 8.7mm) weighs 129 grams, supports Dual SIM slots with Dual Standby, supports 4G LTE connectivity and is backed by a 2500mAh battery.
