Xiaomi is readying the successor to the Xiaomi Redmi Note; the device known as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 has been spotted on TENAA in full glory. (not to be confused with the Xiaomi Redmi 2 which is the successor to the Redmi 1S model).
The successor is not much of a revolution, but more like an update. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 features a 5.5-inch 720p HD TFT display, powered by a quad-core CPU which clocks at 1.2GHz (the Snapdragon 410) with 1GB of RAM, 8GB space of internal storage and a microSD card slot which supports additional 32GB space of storage.
On the back and front, it keeps the same 13MP/5MP camera combination. With the front camera capable of taking selfies and the back camera comes with LED flash. The dimensions remain the same at 154 x 78.7 x 9.5mm, it also weighs 187.5 grams (down from 199 grams) and runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS with the company’s MIUI interface ontop.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is expected to be available in different colour options – Black, White, Green, Purple, Blue, Red, Yellow. It also supports GSM, TD-SCDMA, TD-LTE, LTE FDD network bands. It is said to be a singled SIM device and even though there is no word on availability yet; it is expected to be priced around CNY 799 ($128).
