Download and Install: Cortana for Android APK leaks online

Despite not being official available yet, Android users can now install Cortana for Android thanks to a leaked APK of the app which was sent to beta testers in the Windows Insider Program.

The Redmond giant confirmed in May that virtual assistant, Cortana will be coming to Android and iOS; whilst also pegging the Beta version of the app for Android for a potential July debut date.

At the moment, the Cortana for Android is in Beta version and features like mentioning ‘Hey Cortana’ to wake the device up is not supported yet. More features and functionality are expected to be added to the app in coming updates.

Even though Microsoft mentioned United States and China as the available country for now. Users in other countries like Australia, Canada, France, Germany, India, Italy, Spain and United Kingdom which the app is currently used in (on Windows Phone) can reportedly download the Cortana for Android APK and use it also.

How the app works across different Android devices however varies at the moment with some user having a good experience while some having not too good an experience. That is expected of an app in Beta version and with Android being a platform which is divided in fragment, developers have to make sure apps works across different Android devices.

With the Cortana app coming to Android, it is seen how Google would respond to swiftly counter or reciprocate the gesture. Microsoft is banking big on Cortana to bring more traction to its platform that it has integrated the voice assistant into Windows 10 OS Desktop version.

You can download the Cortana for Android APK from here and before you install, make sure you turn off from Settings > Security before you install it. If you have been installing apps from third parties/unknown sources, it is highly likely you have done this already.
