Dual-SIM Nokia X2 Android Smartphone – Specifications, Features and Price

There were disbelief when Windows Phone OS loyalist launched its first series of smartphones on Android platform – the Nokia X, Nokia XL and the Nokia X+ smartphone some months ago. With Microsoft having take over the mobile arm of Nokia, much speculation were raised about the future of the Android OS based Nokia X series but these rumors have been put to be with the release of the Nokia X2.

The Nokia X2 features a 4.3-inch clearback display (480 x 800 pixels) with scratch resistant glass layer. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor with Adreno 302 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of inbuilt storage (expandable up to 32GB via micro SD card support).

On the rear is a 5MP Auto-Focus camera with LED flash and a front facing VGA camera. Connectivity options on the Nokia X2 includes Bluetooth, 3G, Wi-Fi, EDGE/GPRS, micro USB, GPS. The device also offers dual-SIM support with dual standby, and comes pre-loaded with HERE maps, Mix Radio, Skype, Outlook, OneDrive, OneNote and more apps can be downloaded from either the Nokia store or via 3rd party app stores.

Nokia X2

The Nokia X2 measures 121.7 x 68.3 x 11.1mm, weighs 150grams and run on a Nokia X Platform 2.0 which is based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

Also note that the current Nokia X, X+ and XL won’t be upgradeable to the current Nokia X Platform 2.0 due to some hardware upgrades. Comparing the Nokia X series and the Nokia X2, the Nokia X2 has more RAM (1GB vs 512/768MB), better CPU (Cortex A7 vs Cortex A5) than the previous X series and a Home button has also been added to complement the Back button.

The dual-SIM Nokia X2 would be available in glossy Green, Orange, Black, glossy Yellow & Dark matt Grey colour variants; it is already available for €99 (around N22,000 to N24,000) before tax and subsidies in selected countries.
