Elephone G7 with octa-core SoC, 8MP front camera and 5.5mm thin body launched in India

The Elephone G7 is the first smartphone from Elephone to launch in India; the chinese company is partnering with Snapdeal to sell the smartphone exclusively on the platform. It would be available in Black, Gold and White colour options whilst also selling for a INR 8,888 ($140) price tag.

Joining the likes of Huawei, Xiaomi, Meizu and ZTE, Elephone has finally entered into the Indian market with the G7 smartphone. The company is also expected to bring the Elephone G9 and Elephone P4000. 

Moving to the specs, the Elephone G7 features a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 pixels HD resolution, a metal body build and corning gorilla glass 2 protection. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6592M processor clocked at 1.4GHz with Mali 450 GPU. 

The G7 makes do with just 1GB of RAM, has 8GB space of internal storage space and a microSD card slot to expand the storage further. It excels in the camera department with a rear facing 13MP f/2.0 camera with LED flash, capable of recording 1080p videos and a front facing 8MP camera for selfies.

Connectivity options on the Elephone G7 includes – GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and 3G HSPA+. It runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS and is backed by a 2650mAh battery.
