Elephone has swiftly announced its answer to the buzzing UMI Rome which not only packs impressive specs but is also super affordable. The Elephone M3 as it is known will join the already announced Elephone M2 and Elephone M1 smartphones in the company’s Business M series.
While the UMI Rome sports a 5.5-inch 720p HD display, octa-core Mediatek MT6753 processor, 3GB of RAM, run Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and costs USD 90; the Elephone M3 goes some steps higher with an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor (MT6755), run Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and costs one dollar less than USD 100.
The device also comes with a reversible USB Type-C port which replaces the micro USB port and is faster for charging and transferring data. There is no information on display details but it should have nothing less than a 5.5-inch 720p HD one.
Looking at the renders available, the phone should have glass back, chamfered metal edge and 2.5D curved glass on the display. Most of the key Elephone M3 specifications are not officially detailed including the battery capacity and choice of cameras; hopefully the final version will look exactly as the official renders released.
The phone will arrive in Gold and Silver colours but there is no word on availability yet. Expect more information when the device hits the markets.
