Emdoor EM-i8080 Windows 8 Tablet Costs $100

Chinese device Manufacturer, Emdoor unveiled the Emdoor EM-i8080 at the Computex 2014, the device along with several others are expected to arrive starting from the third quarter of this year (at least July onwards). The device is expected to run on Windows 8.1 with Bing and powered by an intel processor.

The Emdoor EM-i8080 features a 8-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) resolution IPS display, powered by a quad-core Intel Atom Z3735G Bay Trail processor clocked at 1.33GHz (up to 1.8GHz in Burst mode), 1GB of RAM, 16GB native storage space and a micro SD card slot for storage expansion. 

Its has been hard to find a microsoft tablet with a RAM of less than 2GB and internal storage of less than 32GB but with Microsoft and Intel working on dishing out affordable tablets at the entry level. There is no mention on the cameras the device uses, however it weighs 355g, packs an 18.5Wh and front stereo speakers. 

Other features on the device includes – a mini HDMI port for external display, micro SD card slot for more storage, Micro USB and an entry level camera. The Emdoor EM-i8080 is set at a price tag of $100 (N16, 000) and with more confirmations of upcoming tablets coming from the partnership of Microsoft and Intel.
