Energizer took to the stage at the Mobile World Congress 2018 to showcase the world’s first smartphone with a 16,000mAh battery – the Power Max P16K Pro. The battery is said to charge fully in 90 minutes and expected to deliver up to 5 days of normal usage as well as up to 40 days of standby time.
One of the flaws of the Power Max P16K Pro is the absence of support for reserve charging, thus it cannot be used as a power bank for charging other mobile devices. It has a 6-inch (2160 x 1080 pixels) FHD+ IPS LCD display with 18:9 aspect ratio and the overall build is a bit similar to the Doogee BL12000 Pro.
On the inside, the device will run Android 8.0 Oreo OS and rely on an octa-core Mediatek Helio P23 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB built-in storage. It is quite very bulky (15.2 mm thick, weighs 300 grams) and packs dual nano SIM card slots, rear fingerprint sensor and 3.5mm audio jack.
Photography is handled by a dual front and rear cameras. The front setup include 13MP + 5MP camera combo while the rear setup include 16MP + 13MP cameras with dual-tone flash. The phone is expected to go on sale sometime in September for a price tag around $500.
