French device maker, Archos has just announced an entry-level device in Europe – the Archos 40 Helium. The Android Lollipop OS based device joins other sub-€100 devices in the continent but you must know that the specs are nothing special but fits the bill.
Moving to the specs, the Archos 40 Helium sports a 4-inch TFT display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels (WVGA) and is powered by a quad-core Spreadtrum SC9830 processor clocked at 1.5GHz with Mali-400 MP2 GPU, 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage space.
For photography, there is a front facing 2-megapixels camera for selfies as well as video chats and a rear facing 5-megapixels Autofocus camera with LED flash as the main one. Connectivity options on the device includes – Bluetooth with Bluetooth Smart, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/aGPS, micro USB 2.0, DLNA and 4G LTE (LTE Cat.4)/3G HSPA+.
The Archos 40 Helium boots Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with dual SIM slots (Mini SIM + Micro SIM) , a microSD card slot (for additional storage up to 32GB), measures 125.5 x 65.5 x 11.6mm in dimensions, weighs 110 grams in size and the whole package is backed by a 1500mAh Li-Poly battery.
