French smartphone maker, Archos has announced its first phablet sized device, the Archos 59 Titanium. More like a tablet for the low-end users (masses), the phablet rocks a 5.9-inch sized display similar to what’s coming with the Nexus 6 (Motorola Shamu).
The Archos 59 Titanium features a 5.9-inch (854 x 480 pixels) FWVGA IPS LCD display with a pixel density of 166ppi obviously you shouldn’t expect much from the viewing angle. Under the hood is a 1.3 GHz Dual-Core MediaTek MT8312 with 512 MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a memory card slot for expansion up to 64GB. On the rear is a 5MP camera and a front facing VGA (0.3MP) camera.
Although the phablet is not LTE enabled, you still get to have the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, micros USB 2.0, 3G HSDPA+ (up to 21 Mbps). The device is Dual-SIM enabled, measures 165 x 85 x 11mm, weighs 246 grams and runs on Android. 4.4 Kitkat OS. Lest I forget, a 2600mAh Li-Poly battery powers the device.
