Chinese Telco company, China Telecom has teamed up with Coolpad to announce the Coolpad 5721 – a new entry-level smartphone with has huge battery capacity to supplement the unimpressive specs the device comes along with. The device is available from the carrier for a price of CNY 799 ($126).
Moving to the highlight, the Coolpad 5721 is backed by a an ample-sized 4000mah battery. In the battery segment, bigger means better or longer so it should offer a longer and better better battery life. The listing doesn’t however state how long it would last on either talk time or standby time.
It sports a 5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD), powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 MSM8909 processor clocked at 1.1GHz paired with 1GB of RAM, 8GB inbuilt storage space and runs the dated Android 4.4 Kitkat OS.
For additional storage, there is a microSD card slot available for storage expansion (up to 32GB or 64GB). In the camera segment, the device has a front facing 2-megapixels camera for selfies and a rear facing 8-megapixels main camera with LED flash.
Connectivity options on the device includes – 4G LTE (LTE Cat.4), Bluetooth 4.0, Dual Micro SIM slots, micro USB 2.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.
