GIGABYTE communications, a subsidiary of Taiwan’s GIGABYTE has announced a new entry-level 3G smartphone – the GIGABYTE GSmart Classic Pro. The device is expected to be sold in the Taiwanese market but the pricing is unknown yet.
Moving to the specs, the GIGABYTE GSmart Classic Pro sports a 5.0-inch IPS LCD display with 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) screen resolution and a pixel density of 294ppi. Under the hood, it relies on a octa-core Mediatek MT6592 processor clocked at 1.4GHz with 1GB of RAM and 8GB built-in storage space.
In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 13-megapixel camera with LED flash and a front facing 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video chats. It supports 2G and 3G networks and also has the Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS and micro USB 2.0 connectivity options.
The GSmart Classic Pro boots Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box, has Dual SIM slots (Mini + Micro), measures 139 x 71.5 x 7.6 mm in dimensions and weighs 134 grams. For additional storage space, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 32GB) and energy is provided by a 2000mAh battery (removable).
Update: ePrice has the device listed in Taiwan for TWD 3990 (USD 119) and the only available colour option is Dark Blue.
