Indian based, Lava Mobiles has announced the Lava Iris Atom 2X, the device is not only affordable, it also runs Android Lollipop OS which isn’t too far from Marshmallow but doesn’t support 4G LTE connectivity. The latest device in the Iris Atom family is available from online retailers as well as offline stores in India for Rs 4499 ($68).
With a screen resolution of 854 x 480 pixels (FWVGA), the Lava Iris Atom 2X has a 4.5-inch display and is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 1GB of RAM and 8GB built-in storage space. For additional storage, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 32GB.
In the camera segment, there is a front facing VGA (0.3-megapixels) for video chats as well as selfies; and a rear facing 5-megapixels camera with LED flash. Connectivity options on the device includes – Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth and 3G HSPA+.
The Lava Iris Atom 2X measures 134 x 66 x 9.15 mm in dimensions, weighs 132 grams and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. The Dual SIM enabled (with Dual Standby) device is backed by a 2000mAh battery and is available in Black and White colour options to choose from.
