Meizu has announced the Meizu M3 (Meizu Meilan 3) – successor to the entry-level Meizu M2 smartphone. The M3 keeps the same body build and price ranges but also comes with some upgrades and two RAM/storage options – the 2GB/16GB model costs CNY 599 (US$ 92) and the 3GB/32GB variant for CNY 799 (US$ 123).
Packed in a colourful (Blue, Gold, Grey, Pink, White) polycarbonate body, the Meizu M3 sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display with 2.5D front glass panel and Schott Xensation glass protection. It measures 141.5 x 69.5 x 8.3 mm in dimensions and weighs in at 132 grams.
On the inside, the device is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 64-bit processor clocked at 1.5GHz with ARM Mali-T860 GPU with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB built-in storage space. It is based on Flyme OS 5.1 powered by YunOS to ensure minimal power loss.
In the camera aspect, there is a rear facing 13MP AutoFocus camera with 0.2-sec PDAF, LED flash and f/2.2 aperture. The front camera is a 5MP snapper with f/2.0 aperture for selfies. It supports up to 4G LTE networks with VoLTE as well as Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS/A-GPS/Glonass.
The Meizu M3 is backed by a 2870mAh battery which is a bit bigger than the 2450mAh on the M2 and packs Dual SIM slots as well as a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 128GB).
