Entry-Level Philips S307 to sell in Russia by October for $75

Phillips has announced the Philips S307; the entry-level smartphone will joins the company’s smartphone offering in Russia. The device will go on sale in October for RUB 4990 ($75 USD/EUR 65) in October in two colour options – Black colour with Yellow inserts and Black colour with Gray accent.

Talking about the specs, the Philips S307 sports a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) WVGA display; the device has plastic looking build and the back cover has a textured carbon surface. It runs Android 4.4.2 Kitkat OS out-of-the-box but is upgradable to Android Lollipop OS and has no LTE support. 

Under the hood, the device is powered by a quad-core Spreadtrum SC7731 processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with 512MB of RAM and 4GB space of internal storage. For additional storage, there is a microSD card slot which supports up to 32GB cards. 

Handling photography is a rear facing 2MP main camera with LED flash and is assisted by a front facing 0.3MP (VGA) camera for video chats & selfies alike. Connectivity options on the Philips S307 includes – Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and 3G connectivity.

Like most entry-level smartphones – the Philips S307 has Dual SIM functionality, it is however backed by a 1630mAh battery that provides up to 355 hours of standby time and up to 5.5 hours of talk time. 

The launch follows that of the power packed Philips Xenium V526 which runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, supports 4G LTE connectivity and sports 13MP AutoFocus camera with LED flash. The 5-inch sized device has a HD resolution display and is backed by a non-removable 5000mAh battery.
