Weeks after the Galaxy J1 2016 and Galaxy J1 Nxt went official in Dubai and Bangladesh respectively; Samsung has added the Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini to the Galaxy J1 family series. The entry-level device is available in the Philippines market in Black, Gold and White colours but no word on pricing.
Running Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, the Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini sports a 4-inch TFT display with screen resolution of (800 x 480 pixels) and a pixel density of 233ppi. It measures 121.6 x 63.1 x 10.8 mm in dimensions, weighs in at 120 grams and is backed by a removable 1500mAh battery.
Under the hood, it relies on a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 768MB of RAM and 8GB built-in storage space. For additional storage space, there is a microSD card slot for expansion up to 128GB. The device has Dual SIM slots, a front VGA (0.3-megapixel) camera with CMOS sensor and rear facing 5-megapixel camera with CMOS sensor but no flash.
Connectivity options on the Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini includes – 3G USB 2.0, GPS/GLONASS, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. The device is able to last up to 29 hours of audio playback time, up to 8 hours of talk time (3G) and up to 7 hours of video playback time.
