Chinese regulation agency, TENAA, has always been (and continues to be) a viable source of information (specifications and images) about most devices ready to hit the market. The entry-level ZTE S36 is one of such devices which has showed up on the agency.

The ZTE S36 is a very modest device with corresponding specs to show for it. It is packed in a thick looking polycarbonate plastic body build, sports a 5.0-inch TFT display with 854 x 480 pixels (FWVGA) screen resolution‎, weighs 141 grams and measures 142.3 x 72.7 x 8.6 mm in dimensions‎.

On the inside, the device is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz (could be a Mediatek or Spreadtrum SoC)  paired along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB built-in storage space which is expandable up to 32GB via the microSD. It has Dual SIM slots and backed by a 2000mAh batttery.

In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 5 megapixels camera with LED flash and a front facing 2 megapixels camera for selfies and video chats. The ZTE S36 supports 2G, 3G and 4G LTE networks along with standard connectivity options such as Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi, and runs Alibaba’s YunOS (YunOS 3.2.0) out-of-the-box.
