Facebook Messenger Lite app Now In Nigeria and Over 100 Other Countries

‎On the back of the news that Facebook Lite now has over 200 million user and Instagram adding Offline mode for Android; Facebook has announced it is expanding the Messenger Lite app for Android ‎to 100 more countries including Nigeria, Italy, Germany, Colombia, Vietnam, Algeria, Morocco, Peru, Turkey, Japan, Taiwan and the Netherlands.

Basically offering a simpler ‎version of the original Messenger; the Facebook Messenger Lite app lacks the fat data consuming features such as Messenger Day and come with features such as photo and link sharing, messaging and stickers. ‎It work with smartphones running Android 2.3 and above‎, uses less data and works on all network conditions, even slow and unstable ones like 2G connections.

‎The Messenger Lite app was launched last year (October 2016) and initially available only in select countries (Kenya, Tunisia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Venezuela). At the moment, it is still not available in the following countries – Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China, Cuba, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Mexico, North Korea, New Zealand, Philippines, Sudan, UK, and US.
