For a couple of days now, the Infinix Hot 3 has been available on pre-order on Jumia Nigeria. The 5.5-inch device succeeds the first Android One smartphone in Africa – the 5-inch Infinix Hot 2 which but won’t join the Android One family. There is no word on pricing yet.

The Infinix Hot 3 sports a 5.5-inch with 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) screen resolution and deviates from the typical square edge design for Infinix devices with curvy edges and back cover with fine diamond texture.
For photography, there is a front 2MP snapper with 84-degree wide angle shooting range, 16:9 light chip and 1.6 µm large pixel for HD picture quality. The main camera is a 8MP snapper with OV8865 sensor, 5-element lens and 1.4 µm large pixel.
Notable camera modes and features includes – night shooting, scenic, panoramic, free-range shooting, Focus tracking, Touch Capture, Voice recognition, Timed photos, Smile recognition and Gesture recognition.
In terms of performance, the Infinix Hot 3 relies on a 1.3GHz quad-core Mediatek MT6580 processor with either 1GB or 2GB RAM and 16GB built-in storage space. For extra storage space, there is a microSD card for expansion (up to 32GB).
The Infinix Hot 3 runs Android Lollipop OS with XUI on top, backed by a 3000mAh battery with OTG support and is expected to last up to 9 hrs of Web browsing, 20 hrs of talk time and 33 hrs of music playback time.
PS: Infinix is on course to launch 6 smartphones in 2016, the same number released in 2015. There are also talks of the Infinix Hot 3 Pro with enhanced specs – 13MP main camera, 2GB of RAM and 4G LTE connectivity.
