Whatsapp has finally added the the Voice calling feature update to the Whatsapp for Windows Phone app. The feature was rolled out to beta testers late last month.
The Voice calling feature which is already available on Android, Blackberry 10 and iOS versions of the app lets you make voice calls to other Whatsapp users across all platforms (Android, iOS and Windows Phone and Blackberry 10) over the Internet (VoIP).
Along with Voice calling feature, the other feature that comes with the version 2.12.60 is the ability to send voice note which is restricted to devices running Windows Phone 8.1 OS and above. Whatsapp has not gotten there with the Windows Phone Version of the app compared to its Android and iOS counterparts.
With Voice calling feature on almost all of the platforms it is available, pundits are tipping Whatsapp to begin to dish out more eye catching functionality and features which will pitch against the likes of Viber and Skype.
You can download Whatsapp from the Windows Phone Store or update the app through store app on your phone to give the app a spin.
