China Telecom has teamed up with Gionee to announce a new China-exclusive smartphone – the Gionee W900S. The 4-inch device not only has a Dual display, it is foldable and supports LTE connectivity. It is available for a steep price tag of CNY 4,299 ($638) in Gold Colour option only.
Moving to the specs, the Gionee W900S a numeric keyboard and two 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) WVGA LCD displays, one on the interior and the other on the outside. Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core 64-bit Mediatek MT6753 processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage space.
Handling photography on the W900S is a 13 megapixels main camera with LED flash and a front facing 5 megapixels camera for selfies. Connectivity option onboard includes – Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, microUSB 2.0 and 4G LTE (LTE Cat. 4 – up to 150Mbps).
While the dimensions are not stated, the device looks bulky and should weigh round 150 grams (if not more). The Gionee W900S has Dual Micro SIM slots, a microSD card for storage expansion, runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box and is backed by a 2500mAh battery which should last up to 6 hours of usage or more.
