Fossil has announced new smartwatches and smart wearables in the Fossil Q family – the Q Wander, Q Marshal, Q Tailor, Q Nate and the Q Motion fitness tracker. All five align with the company’s vision of striking the perfect balance of function & fashion; and will be available to customers between early summer and fall 2016.
Fossil Q Wander and Q Marshal
Fossil started off with two new Android Wear Smartwatches -the Fossil Q Wander and Fossil Q Marshal. The Q Wander has a soft curving, multi-finish case with sculpted wire lugs and interchangeable genuine leather strap; while the Q Marshal comes more durable with a rugged case, waterproof body and vintage-inspired leather straps.
Compared to their predecessor, the cases are now 44mm and 46mm respectively and for versatility, there is also a silicon strap option. Both smartwatches features touchscreen display, voice control, always-on displays, wireless charging and compatibility with Android smartphones and iPhones.
Availability is slated for later this year but no word on pricing.
Fossil Q Tailor and Q Nate
Unlike the Android Wear powered Q Wander and Q Marshal; the Fossil Q Tailor and Fossil Q Nate are both analog watches with smart functions and connects to Android smartphones and iPhones via Bluetooth.
The analog smartwatches features a smart button which makes use of smart tap technology that allows users interact with the phone paired with. Both provide alerts on incoming calls and message notifications in addition to tracking activities, sleep pattern, calories burned and updating time zones automatically.
Fossil Q Motion
Available in the summer of 2016, the Fossil Q Motion tracks user’s daily activities, sleeping habits and notifies user of phone calls, text messages and activity using haptic vibrations and multi-color LED lights.
Featuring a new sleek looking cylinder design, the fitness tracker sports a smart tap technology which allows the user get activities done via a simple tap. The coin cell batteries of the $99-priced Fossil Q Motion lasts up to 6 months of usage and the tracker is water resistant up to 50 metres.
