Apparently, Fossil Group also announced the Fossil Q Explorist and Fossil Q Venture Android Wear 2.0 touchscreen smartwatches at the recently concluded Baselworld 2017 in Switzerland. The duo will slot-in ahead of the Q Wander and Q Founder, launch in early Fall 2017 and retail for $255 – $275.
The Fossil Q Explorist is said to have a 44mm display and 12.6mm thick case while the Fossil Q Venture dons a slightly smaller 42mm display and 11.5mm thick case. The former also has a more rugged look and two programmable buttons while the latter comes in Gold and Rose Gold with gemstones decoration.
Both feature a round always-on touchscreen display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 2100 processor, 4GB of memory, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, magnetic charger, interchangeable straps and Digital Crown on the right hand side, similar to that found on LG Watch Sport, for navigating the watch’s UI.
Taking full advantage of Android Wear 2.0 OS, the Q Venture and Q Explorist will have Google Assistant functionality, access to standalone apps, and users can customise the watch dial and information on the watch. There is also a vintage-arcade inspired game exclusive for Fossil Q and no mention of either GPS or NFC.
Fossil Q Accomplice and Q Activist
Also, Fossil also announced two new Hybrid Smartwatches – the Q Accomplice and Q Activist. Both are regarded as the ‘slimmest designed Fossil Q hybrid case to date’ and will be available in stores sometime in 2017 for $155 – $175. They have feature such as activity tracking, date, and notifications for calls, texts, emails, and calendar events.
