Four Huawei P9 smartphone variants expected in 2016

Huawei is expected to announce the successor to the P8 flagship – the Huawei P9 at some point this year. According to leakster, Evan Blass (@evleaks) via VentureBurn, the Chinese company has four Huawei P9 smartphone variants scheduled for 2016. 

The report does not have any specs details but the ‎expected Huawei P9 smartphone variants are the – the flagship P9, the P9 Lite, P9 Max and an Enhanced P9 edition. The report confirms none of the four variants will have a QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) screen resolution display to curtail battery life – this means the Nexus 6P is the QHD smartphone from Huawei.‎

The Huawei P9 will be the main flagship, the P9 Max and P9 Lite will both be budget friendly devices. The fourth variant which is the enhanced/premium P9 variant will pack an improved camera – a dual lens, dual (12 megapixel) sensor configuration highighted as a second-gen ‎technology. 

The source goes further to confirm, none of the four Huawei P9 smartphone variants will be announced at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona next month, rather, the company will host a separate event for them several weeks after the conclusion of the event. 

This doesn’t mean Huawei will be idle at the MWC, the company is expected to announce the previously rumoured Huawei Matebook – a surface book like device which would run Windows 10 OS but also speculated to Dual Boot Android. ‎
