After so many leaks, Sony has finally unveiled the Xperia Z4 but the company is only talking about the Japanese market for now; the company is expected to release the global version before the end of May. Whether it would be the same device or with some improvements, only time will tell.
The Sony Xperia Z4 sports a 5.2-inch FHD display, powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with Adreno 430 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB space of internal storage (up to 128GB via microSD card).
Other specs details includes – 20.7MP rear camera, 5.1MP front facing camera, Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, IP68 certification for Dustproof and waterproof, 4G LTE and a 2930mAh battery. It would be available in White, Aqua Green, Copper and Black Colour options but no word on pricing yet.
How does the Xperia Z4 differ from the Xperia Z3? – The Xperia Z4 is powered by the latest flagship darling – Snapdragon 810 SoC, it is lighter and thinner, and of course the front facing 5MP camera. Other specs seems to be pretty much the same.
Sony has done a good job of extending the usual 6-month cycle of releasing a new smartphone but did the company really nail it with the Xperia Z4. We look what the company might have done to make the flagship more appealing.
Four things that could have made the Sony Xperia Z4 Better
1). Quad HD Display: Quad HD resolution display smartphones have set the benchmark this year for their flagship status; anything less would be questionable. Sony decided to stick with Full HD resolution display which could make end customers question if it is a worthy upgrade over the Xperia Z3.
2). Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS): No doubt Sony makes good cameras but the company has been avoided adding optical image stabilisation modules to its came. The importance of this is basically for digital video stabilisation purposes which most Sony cameras really handle well, perhaps the company might be right for doing this but for bragging right sake why should they just add it.
3). Design overhaul: The Sony Xperia Z4 has almost has the same design as the Xperia Z3 which in itself is similar to the Xperia Z2. The company should have taken a cue from Samsung and should have undergone a compete design overhaul.
4). Interface Overhaul: It is getting monotonous with the same Sony Xperia UI on Xperia smartphones. When you look at the Xperia Z2, Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z4; all four asides having the same design in common, the UI is the same and interface overhaul would have been advised.
