Plus One Marketing, the company behind Japanese brand – FREETEL, has announced a new 3G smartphone in Ecuador. The FREETEL ICE 2 willl be sold through the Consorcio Ecuatoriano de Telecomunicaciones, S.A. (Conecel), which goes under the brand name Claro and is a part of the Mexican group – America Movil.
Pre-installed with the now dated Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, the FREETEL ICE 2 falls into the entry-class category with a 4-inch (800 x 400 pixels) WVGA LCD display, plastic body build and a meagre 1350 mAh battery which in today standard would barely last up to 4 or 5 hours of usage.
On the inside, it is powered by a quad-core processor cocked at 1.2GHz paired alongside 256MB of RAM, 512MB built-in storage (expandable via microSD card slot). In the camera segement, there is a rear facing 5MP camera with LED flash and a front facing 2MP camera for video calls and pitiable selfies.
The FREETEL ICE 2 supports only 2G and 3G networks, has Dual SIM slots and the standard connectivity options such as Bluetooth, micro USB and WI-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. There is no detailed word on pricing.
