Japanese Brand, Freetel has announced the availability of the Freetel Kiwani and Freetel Priori3 unlocked smartphones in North America – US and Canada. Both devices can be pre-ordered from Freetelwireless.com and are compatible with various GSM carriers and MVNOs in the US and Canada including T-Mobile, AT&T, Cricket Wireless and Metro PCs.
With a MSRP of USD 389, the Freetel Kiwani sports a 6-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) WQHD IPS display and is powered by an octa-core Mediatek Helio X10 (MT6795) processor clocked at 2.0GHz along with 3GB RAM and 32GB built-in storage. In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 21 MP camera made by SONY and a front facing 8MP selfie camera.
Built with sturdy metal frame, Kiwani measures 159.5 x 82.9 x 8.9 mm in dimensions, weighs 182 grams and is backed a 3400mAh battery with fast charging. On the software side, it runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS (no word on upgrade to Android Marshmallow) and is equipped with a fingerprint sensor.
Priced at USD 99 (but available at a limited time for USD 89), the Freetel Priori3 sports a 4.5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) FWVGA display and backed by a 2100mAh battery. The device packs a quad-core Mediatek MT6735P processor with 1GB RAM, 8GB built-in storage space and also runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. The rest of the core specs includes 8MP main camera, front 2MP camera and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n.
