Fuhu has announced the Nabi ELEV-8, an android based tablet for kids. The 8-incher comes with a removable red rubber-looking casing, parental controls and various children-friendly content to go along with it. It is available in the US from Walmart and Toys’R’Us outlets; pricing starts at $169 (six months of free Nabi Pass access inclusive).
Fuhu’s Nabi ELEV-8 sports a 8-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit processor paired with 1GB of RAM and 32GB space of internal storage. For additional storage, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 32GB).
Handling photography is front facing 2MP camera for video chats and a rear facing 5MP camera capable of recording 1080p onboard. The tablet has a built-in microphone and is the thinnest ever to be made by Fuhu but the company is no giving any dimensions.
As earlier mentioned, the tablet comes with a red rubber-looking casing to protect the tablet from expected falls and the likes but once that is removed you get a normal looking tablet. Running Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, the Nabi ELEV-8 achieves the child-friendly interface with nabi’s proprietary Blue Morpho OS but the battery capacity is currently unknown.
