The Blackberry Passport was announced in June along side with the Blackberry Classic. The BlackBerry Passport has a unique 1:1 aspect ratio display and a resolution of 1440 x 1440 pixels. The device also has a touch sensitive three rowed keyboard beneath the display. The device first surfaced in a series of leaks in May before it was announced by Blackberry CEO John Chen.
Apart from announcing the device and the screen resolution; most of the details remained unknown. N4BB has finally made the detailed specifications of the Blackberry passport available.
The Blackberry Passport as we all know features a 4.5-inch (1440 x 1440 pixels) with a pixel density of 453PPI with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood is a 2.2GHz Quad Core Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974-AA) processor with 330GPU and 3GB of RAM. It has a 32GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 64GB via microSD card and a 3450mAh non-removable battery powers the device.
On the rear is a 13MP rear Auto-Focus camera with LED flash & BSI sensor; and a 2MP fixed focus front camera with image and video stabilisation. Connectivity options on the device includes – GPS + GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, SlimPort, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4GHz and 5GHz) and 4G LTE.
The Blackberry Passport weighs 194.4grams (battery inclusive), measures 128 x 90.3 x 9.3mm (9.6mm around camera) and would definitely run on Blackberry OS 10. The device is expected to be launched in London next month in Black and White colour variants.
