Samsung is reportedly launching a modified version of the Galaxy Grand Prime smartphone. This modified version version would be called the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Value Edition and it would come with some modifications in the specifications.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime is one of the successful low-end smartphones around the globe, little wonder the company is working on a modified version which would run Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. The original variant would be receiving the Android Lollipop treatment soon.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Value Edition would be powered by a 64-bit quad-core Cortex-A53 Marvell PXA1908 which would replace the Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 and it would run Android 5.0 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box replacing Android 4.4.4 Kitkat that ran on the former.
The rest of the specs would remain the same – 5-inch (960 x 540 pixels) QHD display, 1GB of RAM, 8GB space of internal storage and a microSD card slot for storage expansion. On the rear there is a 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a front facing 5MP camera for selfies.
Connectivity options on the device includes – LTE Cat.4, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and NFC. The device measures 8.6mm thick, weighs 156 grams and is backed by a 2600mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Value Edition has also been spotted on Taiwanese agency with the model number – SM-G531F. A new Gold colour option has been added to the available Black and White colour options on the Galaxy Grand Prime.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime is currently selling in Nigeria for N39,000 (around $195) on online e-commerce website – Konga.
