Going by Blackberry Roadmap, the only device we haven’t seen this year is the Blackberry Classic but this according to reports is about to change. We have seen the Blackberry Passport, Blackberry Blend and the Premium Porsche Design P’9983 smartphones and apps alike from the Canadian company.
We have heard several stories about the upcoming Blackberry Classic but N4BB seems to confirm all doubts about the device. The Classic is said to be an upgrade over the Blackberry Q10 with a beer screen size, larger battery and add more weight.
The Blackberry Classic would bring back the Five buttons (Call, Menu, TrackPad, Back and Cancel buttons) which users are accustomed with on Blackberry devices. Specs-wise the device houses a mixture of top tier and midrange features.
As previously leaked, expect a 3.46-inch (720 × 720 pixels) LTPS TFT LCD touchscreen display (1:1 Aspect Ratio & a pixel density of 294ppi). Under the hood is a Qualcomm MSM8960 Dual Core processor clocking at 1.5 GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot (up to 128GB).
On the rear is a 8MP autofocus OIS camera capable of 1080p HD video recording and a front facing Fixed focus camera capable of 720p HD video recording. Other features includes – three microphones installed for nocie cancellation, micro USB 2.0, NFC, Miracast, SlimPort, Nano SIM card (4FF) support and 4G LTE.
The Blackberry Classic measures 131 x 72.5 x 10.2mm, has a heavy weight at 178g, would run Blackberry OS 10.3 and packs a 2515mAh battery. The device also supports Qi and Powermat wireless charging and would be available in Black and White colour options.
We have marked the November month for the release of the device as all leaks and rumours points to it.
