We have seen the Galaxy Alpha and the Galaxy A Series family, the Galaxy E family is expected to follow soon and for a while now we have been seen seeing traces of a possible low-end smartphone family from the company going with the moniker – Galaxy J.
The first smartphone from the Galaxy J series would be the Samsung Galaxy J1 and it is no surprise as the device has been spotted twice on benchmark listing with the codenames – SM- J100F and SM-J100H. Both listing points to the same specifications.
Baring any last minute changes, the Samsung Galaxy J1 is expected to feature a 4.3-inch 480 x 800 pixels TFT touchscreen display, with 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot and a 1.2GHz quad-core Marvell PXA1908 processor.
The Galaxy J1 would have a front facing 2MP camera, a rear facing 5MP camera, 4G LTE and a 1850mAh battery. It weighs 123grams, measures 129 x 69 x 8.9mm and would run on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS unlike the Galaxy E Series devices which would get Android Lollipop from the onset.
Although most of the previous info available points to a 4.8-inch display; however that could still change and the device has no chance of seeing 2014 as a 2015 launch date is more realistic. The Samsung Galaxy J1 is expected to have a cheaper price so it’ll be able to compete with the various OEMS which has eaten deep into Samsung’s market share with their different affordable devices.
