Google’s frequent Android One collaborator, General Mobile has released a new smartphone based on the initiative. The General Mobile GM 8 comes pre-loaded with vanilla Android Oreo OS and predictably expected, will get monthly safety updates as well as up to two years of Operating System updates directly from Google including the upcoming Android P.
The General Mobile GM 8 sports a 5.7-inch (1440 x 720 pixels) HD+ IPS InCell LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection, 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 (MSM8940) octa-core 64-bit processor, rear fingerprint scanner, 3.5mm audio jack, and a 3,075mAh Li-Po mAh battery.
The GM 8 is available in two RAM and storage variants: 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB with 64GB storage. Photography is handled by a rear 13MP AF camera with Phase Detection AutoFocus (PDAF) and f/2.0 aperture, alongside a front facing 13MP FF camera with f/2.0 aperture.
The General Mobile GM 8 is available in Gold and Space Gray colours for a price tag starting at TRY 999 (USD 264) for the 3GB RAM model.
