Chinese device maker, Geotel, which has served as an OEM / ODM to a number of brands, has released a new smartphone under its own branding. The Geotel Amigo is the third offering from the company after the Geotel A1 (Android 7.0 Nougat) and Geotel Note (Android 6.0 Marshmallow).
Pre-installed with Android Nougat OS, the Geotel Amigo has a 5.2-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) 2.5D HD display, unibody metal frame, Dual SIM slots, rear fingerprint sensor, rear 13MP main camera with LED flash, front 5MP camera with dedicated screen flash and a 3000mAh battery.
On the inside, it is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage space (expandable up to 256GB via microSD card slot). Connectivity options available include – 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth, micro USB 2.0 and 3.5mm audio jack.
The Geotel Amigo will arrive in a classic Black or an eccentric Red colour option, which the company calls ‘Alpha RED’ and seems more likely to be inspired by Apple’s recent iPhone (PRODUCT) RED Special Edition. No word on pricing and availability as at time of launch.
