Earlier today, we brought news that the Gionee Elife S7 would be launched at the MWC 2015 with emphasis placed on a slim body. The yet to be announced Elife S7 has been certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent of the FCC) under the model number:- GN-9006.
The Gionee Elife S7 GN-9006 measures 5.5mm in thickness (other being 148.8 x 72.4mm) and weighs 126.5 grams. Earlier rumours suggested the device would be 4.6mm thin but the listing suggests otherwise. this means while the body is thin at 5.5mm, it wouldn’t take on the Coolpad Ivvi K1 Mini as the slimmest smartphone around.
Moving to the full specs of the device, it features a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display, powered by an octa-core Mediatek MT6752 processor which clocks at 1.7GHz with 2GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. There would be no microSD card slot on-board.
Other specs details includes a 13MP main camera and a front 8MP camera; support 4G LTE networks (China Unicom) and run on Android 4.4 kitkat OS and backed by a 2700mAh battery. It would be available in Black, White and Blue Colour option.
Even though the listing didn’t not categorically state the Gionee GN-9006 as the Elife S7; but looking back at the Elife S5.1 had the model number GN-9005 this could naturally be the successor. It could be possible that the Gionee Elife S7 is another smartphone entirely (possibly with 4.6mm) but it doesn’t look likely at the moment. We will have to wait for more leaks or possibly the official announcement which will be at the MWC 2015.
