Gionee Gpad G5 Announced With 1.5GHz Hexa-Core SoC and Android 4.4 Kitkat OS

Gionee has announced the successor to the Gpad G4 phablet with the Gionee Gpad G5. The device will be available Online and in retail stores by next week for ¥1524 (around N40,000 in Naira). The Gpad G5 supports Dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) functionality as well as 3G connectivity.

The Gionee Gpad G5 features a 5.5-inch HD (720 x 1280 pixels) IPS display with ADC Dragontrail glass protection. Under the hood is a 1.5GHz hexa-core Cortex-A7 processor and ARM Mali-450 MP GPU with 1GB of RAM. There is 8GB of inbuilt storage and a microSD card slot for expansion.

On the rear is a 8MP camera with LED flash and a front facing 2MP camera. On the Connectivity front, it has GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi, 3G, GPRS/EDGE and FM Radio. It also features a dual crystal loud speaker with DTS.

The Gionee Gpad G5 measures 157.3×77.6×7.9mm, weighs 104.6 and runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS out-of-the-box. The device packs a 2400mAh battery, which provides up to 288 hours of standby time, up to 15 hours of usage on 2G and 12hours of talk time on 3G.

The company announced the Gionee Gpad G4 phablet early this year. The Gpad G4 features a 5.5-inch 720p HD IPS display, powered by a Cortex-A7 1.5GHz quad-core processor and PowerVR Series5XT GPU, 1GB of RAM, 13MP auto-focus camera with LED flash, 5MP front camera, 16GB of inbuilt storage (no microSD card) and 3200mAh.
