Gionee’s upcoming battery centric flagship smartphone – the Gionee M2017 has been spotted on Chinese agency website – TENAA (China Industrial Information Technology Department). As expected, the listing includes most of the specifications and images of the device.
Sporting a square-ish body build with curved edges and leather back cover, the Gionee M2017 specs starts off with a 5.7-inch (2560 × 1440 pixels) Quad HD AMOLED display and a huge 7000mAh long lasting battery. It boots Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS with Amigo OS 3.2 and a front placed fingerprint sensor.
On the inside, it is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 (MSM8976 Pro) processor clocked at 1.958GHz along with 6GB of RAM and 128GB built-in storage space. The M2017 uses a dual rear camera setup – 12MP + 13MP cameras with LED flash alongside a front facing 8MP selfie camera.
The Gionee M2017 measures 155.2 x 77.6 x 10.65 mm, weighs in at 230 grams and will arrive in Black colour option. At the moment, the final name of the device is not known and the device doesn’t fit into any of the company’s current series of devices. Maybe we are looking at an entirely new series afterall.
PS: The M2017 has also been spotted on Geekbench and AnTuTu listing meaning we could be very close to a launch date.
