Gionee and China Telecom have announced the Gionee M3S (or Gionee Marathon M3S) which is an improved Gionee M3 (Gionee Marathon M3). The LTE enabled smartphone will support network bands in China and sell for a price tag of CNY 1699 (~$267) in Black and White colour options.
Running Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with Amigo UI 3.1 ontop, the Gionee M3S features a 5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 1GB of RAM (TENAA says 1.5GB of RAM) and 16GB space of internal storage.
The main camera is a 8MP snapper on the back with LED flash, a front facing 5MP camera for selfies (and possibly video chats) and a microSD card slot for stocking up addition storage. Connectivity options on the device includes – 4G LTE, USB OTG, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and micro USB.
The Dual Micro SIM enabled Gionee M3S is heavy and thick, hence, it measures 144.7 x 71.2 x 10.1mm in dimensions, weighs about 178.2 grams and is backed by a 5000mAh battery. The battery is obviously the highlight which could last up to 440 hours of standby time and 50 hours of talk time. .
The Marathon Series or M Series devices from Gionee always have huge battery capacity and long lasting battery life; One of the most recent ones are the Gionee Marathon M4 (5000mAh battery) and the Gionee Marathon M5 (6020mAh battery).
