Gionee has officially announced the Gionee M5 Plus – a bigger screen version of the Gionee M5 with a big sized battery capacity. The device is already on order from the official Gionee shop and will go on sale in China starting December 25th for a price tag of CNY 2499 (US$ 385) in Gold and Silver colour options.
The Gionee M5 Plus sports a 6-inch AMOLED display with a resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD), 2.5D Arc glass, 77.5-percent screen-to-body ratio and a pixel density of 386ppi. Processing power is derived from a 64-bit Mediatek MT6753 octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz with Mali-T720 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 64GB built-in storage space.
Photography is handled by a front facing 5MP and rear facing 13MP camera with Phase Detection AutoFocus (PDAF) & LED Flash. Additional storage can be added up to 128GB via a microSD card slot and the fingerprint sensor which is embedded into the home button has a response time of 0.1 second and response time of 0.38 second.
Connectivity options on the Gionee M5 Plus includes – Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB OTG. The metal-clad device uses a USB Type-C port for charging, runs Amigo 3.1 OS based on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and is backed by a Dual Charging 5020mAh battery with fast charging.
It has Dual Micro SIM slots, measures 160.9 x 81.2 x 8.4mm, weighs 208 grams and can last up to one full day of usage on just an hour charge.
