The Gionee Pioneer P4S is the latest smartphone in the company’s Pioneer Series of smartphone. The entry-level smartphone comes with Dual SIM functionality and almost has the same specs as it’s predecessor – the Gionee Pioneer P4.
The Gionee Pioneer P4S features a 4.5-inch (854 X 480 pixels) FWVGA display, powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 1GB of RAM, 8GB sapce of internal storage and a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 32GB).
The main camera is a 5MP unit which has LED flash and records HD video; the front facing camera is a 2MP unit which is okay for selfies and video chats. It supports Dual SIM with Dual Standby functionality, supports 3G, GPS, Bluetooth & Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity options. It also has NFC-like feature thanks to HotKnot connectivity.
The Gionee Pioneer P4S runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS, measures 134.5 x 67.7 x 8.7mm in dimensions and is backed by a 1800mAh battery. It is available in the Indian market for RS 7,799 ($125) with a window flip cover bundled along with it.
One can’t help but wonder why Gionee decided to oust the Pioneer P4S when there are better offers in the market, the just released Micromax Canvas Spark is the best example for a lesser price tag and brings Android Lollipop OS.
