The Nigerian smartphone market is getting very competitive and Gionee is looking to be at the fore front with its new ranges of upcoming smartphones. We were able to get our hands on a marketing material and it strongly suppors claims that Gionee would be launching four smartphones – (the Gionee Marathon M3, Pioneer P5L, Elife S5.1 and CTRL V6L) in Nigeria before the end of the year.
Gionee currently has to battle with the likes of Innjoo and Infinix which are currently buzzing, not forgetting the newly introduced smartphones from WIKO and the already established OEMS including Tecno.
Gionee Marathon M3
The Gionee Marathon M3 features a 5.0-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display, powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor (unspecified chipset), 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and there should be a microSD card to support it. Other specs includes – 8.0MP Auto-Focus rear camera, 2.0MP front camera, OTG support, Android 4.4 Kitkat OS and an enormous 5000mAh battery. There is no word on if this device would support LTE connectivity but it is definitely looking like a dual-SIM device.
Gionee Pioneer P5L
The Gionee Pioneer P5L features a 4.7-inch FWVGA display, powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, Android 4.4 Kitkat OS, 5MP auto-focus rear camera, 2.0MP front camera, 1800mAh battery, 1800mAh battery. The Pioneer P5L is the successor to the Pioneer P4 and comes with LTE support.
Gionee Elife S5.1
The Gionee Elife S5.1 smartphone has already featured on TGF and dethrone the Elife S5.5 as the slimmest smartphone in the world.
The Elife S5.1 features a 4.8-inch HD AMOLED display, powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core processor, Adreno 305 GPU, 1GB RAM, 16GB non-expandable internal storage, 8MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 2000mAh, Android 4.4 Kitkat OS, OTG and 4G LTE.
The Gionee Elife S5.1 measures 5.15mm in thickness which is the same thickness on the Kazam Tornado 348 smartphone.
Gionee CTRL V6L
The Gionee CTRL V6L features a 5.0-inch HD display, powered by a 1.2GHz Quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, 8.0MP rear camera, 5.0MP front camera, Android 4.4 Kitkat OS, 2000mAh and Double LTE support.
Gionee has already confirmed the Elife S5.1 will at one point debut in Nigeria before the end of the year. The other three smartphones are expected to debut alongside the ‘slimmest smartphone in the world’.
