Gionee has officially announced the Gionee S5.1 Pro, the 5-inch sized smartphone which combines metal and glass body first surfaced as the Gionee GN9007 on TENAA. The device is expected to sell at first in China in Gold and White colour but the official price is unknown yet.
The Gionee S5.1 Pro features a 5-inch 2.5D (1280 x 720 pixels) HD AMOLED display with a pixel density of 237ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It measures about 6.35mm thin (about 1.20mm more than the 5.15mm on the Gionee Elife S5.1) but doesn’t skip on any hardware specs like the latter.
Under the hood, it is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Mediatek MT6753 processor clocked at 1.5GHz paired with Mali-T720 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot which also serves as the second SIM slot is available for storage expansion up to 128GB.
On the back lies a 13MP camera with LED flash and a front facing 5MP camera with 81-degrees wide angle view for selfies. Connectivity options on the Gionee S5.1 Pro includes 4G LTE/3G HSPA+, USB OTG, GPS/AGPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth and GPS.
The Hybrid Dual SIM enabled Gionee S5.1 Pro runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with Amigo UI 3.1, weighs 129 grams, measures
145.1 x 70 x 6.35mm in dimensions and is backed by a 2400mAh battery which should last about a day of usage.
