Gionee has thrown a new mid-range device – Gionee S6 (or rather the Gionee Elife S6) in the mix. The device joins the long line slim devices released by the company; it will go on sale from November 22nd in China for a price tag of CNY 1699 ($267) in Gold and Platinum Colour variants.
Running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS with Amigo OS 3.1 ontop, the Gionee S6 sports a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD AMOLED display with slim bezels and a screen-to-body ratio of 77.8%. Under the hood, it is powered by an Octa-core Mediatek MT6753 processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 3GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage space.
For photography, there is a 13MP f/2.0 camera with LED flash, Phase Detection AutoFocus (PDAF) and supports Full HD Video recording; and a front facing 5MP camera for selfies. Connectivity options on the device includes – Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, 4G LTE and USB 2.0 Type-C port for exchanging data as well as charging the device.
For additional storage, there is a microSD card slot which supports up to 128GB cards; the device has Hybrid dual SIM slots (micro SIM + Nano SIM/microSD card slot), weighs 147 grams, measures 4mm thin at its slimmest part and 6.9mm at the thickest part, other dimensions are 151.9mm x 74.6mm. The whole shebang is backed by a 3150mAh battery.
