Gionee has officially announced a new device – the Gionee S6 Pro which happens to be the pro version of the relatively successful Gionee S6 released last year. As expected, the phablet comes with various improvements from the screen resolution to Memory, Storage and front camera.
The Gionee S6 Pro’s body is made up of 90% metal; it is made from aerospace-grade aluminium alloy metal which has undergone various processes such as CNC diamond cutting, anodising, fine sandblasting, nano-injection molding and other complex processes.
On the inside, it packs a 64-bit Mediatek Hello P10 (MT6755) octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz with ARM Mali-T860 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 64GB built-in storage space. The device sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display and is backed by a 3130mAh Lithium Polymer battery.
In the imaging segment, the Gionee S6 Pro has a rear facing 13MP camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and LED flash while the front camera is a 8MP snapper for selfies. It supports 4G+ with VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and uses the USB Type-C port for transferring information and charging.
The Gionee S6 Pro has Hybrid Dual SIM slots (Nano + Micro) with the other SIM slot also acting as a microSD card for storage expansion up to 128GB and runs Amigo 3.2 OS (based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS). It also has a fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button (unlocks the device in 0.1 second) and is available from the company’s China website for a price tag of CNY 1999 (USD 304).
