Gionee’s upcoming smartphone(s) for the Chinese market has recently been certified by TENAA. With the exception of some minor differences, the Gionee S9 and Gionee S9T have similar specs and could be heading for the crown of the company’s first set of smartphones with dual rear cameras.
Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with Amigo OS 3.2, the Gionee S9 (and S9T) sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS 2.5D curved glass display, Hybrid Dual SIM slots (micro + Nano/microSD), Fingerprint sensor (home button) and backed by a 3000mAh battery for moderate battery life.
Under the hood, the device relies on an octa-core processor with one on the S9 clocked at 1.9GHz while that of the S9T clocked at 2.0GHz. Either option pack up to 4GB RAM, 64GB built-in storage space and a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 128GB).
The main camera setup on the new Gionee phones uses a dual setup – a 13MP + 5MP cameras with Dual-Tone LED. A 13MP camera for graces the front to handle selfies and video chats. Connectivity options onboard includes – 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS.
The duo could arrive in Black, Gold & Silver colours, measure 154.2 x 76.4 x 7.4 mm in dimensions and while the Gionee S9 weighs in at 166.5g, the Gionee S9T scales at 200.8g. There could be other differences in which the listing does not reveal but everything will be clearer when there is an official launch.
