On the back of surfacing on Chinese Telco agency, TENAA, the Gionee S9 has been officially unveiled in China. The high mid-range phablet comes with a number of interesting specs and will go on sale in the country starting November 25 for a price tag of CNY 2499 ($364) in Black, Gold and Rose Gold colours.
Sporting a metal unibody design, the Gionee S9 retains the 5.5-inch LTPS Full HD display, Mediatek Helio P10 MT6755 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB built-in storage from the Gionee S8. The screen is protected by 2.5D Curved Glass and the fingerprint sensor is embedded into the home button.
The highlight of the S9 is the Dual Rear camera setup – 13MP + 5MP cameras, with Dual-tone LED flash. Meanwhile the front camera is a 13MP snapper with Gionee’s Selfie Flash feature and beautification mode. It has a Hybrid Dual SIM slots and boots Amigo OS 3.5 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.
The Gionee S9 measures 154.2 x 76.4 x 7.4mm in dimensions, weighs in at 168.2 grams (20 grams more than the S8) and backed by the same 3000mAh battery. The device also has 4G VoLTE support as well as Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS.
