Gionee has an upcoming smartphone which has recently been spotted on benchmark and at the moment there is still scarce information about this device. The device in question is the Gionee W909 which has been put through its paces on Geekbench.
The key details of the Gionee W909 known are; OS is listed as Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS and the memory is 4GB RAM. It is powered by an octa-core Mediatek Helio P10 MT6755 processor which uses Eight (8) Cortex-A53 cores clocked up to 2.0GHz with ARM Mali-T860 GPU. The device has a single-core score of 818 and a multi-core score of 3103.
Unlike TENAA and GFXBench, Geekbench doesn’t reveal too much details about devices which has been tested on it. With the performance score and the choice of chipset, the W909 will hopefully be released as a mid-range smartphone. All other details wil be confirmed when it goes official.
Talking about the chipset, the MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) is expected to be used in up to 100 smartphones this year. The chinese company didn’t reveal the names of companies involved but device makers such as Meizu, Oppo, Xiaomi, Sony, HTC, Lenovo and more should be on that list.
