Gionee X1 Debuts with 5-inch HD display, Android 7.0, Fingerprint Sensor

Gionee has added a new budget ‘X series’ smartphone in India. The Gionee X1 carries a price tag of INR 8,999 (US$ 140) and the company has teamed up with Airtel India to gift those who purchase the device with 10GB data per month for 6 months on any data recharge of 1GB.

Pre-installed with Android 7.0 Nougat OS with Amigo 4.0 UI on top, the Gionee X1 sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display and a large 3,000mAh battery. It is powered by a quad-core Mediatek MT6737 processor clocked at 1.3GHz, paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage.

Photography is handled by a rear 8MP AutoFocus camera with 1.4″ sensor, 1.12μm pixel size and LED flash. The front snapper is also a 8MP camera capable of capturing quality selfies. The smarphone also has a rear fingerprint sensor which can act as the shutter button, Dual SIM slots and a dedicated microSD card slot for expansion up to 256GB.

Connectivity options on the ‎Gionee X1 includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, and Bluetooth 4.2. It will arrive in Black and Gold colours, and is available for purchase at various offline retailers in India.
