Gionee India is expanding its X series smartphone line with the debut of the Gionee X1s, about a month after the release of the X1 in India. The new budget smartphone promises to deliver both enhanced selfie and battery capabilities whilst retaining similar body build as the Gionee X1.
The Gionee X1s features a front 16MP camera with Selfie flash along with features such as Beautified Video and Face Beauty v2.0. On the back sits the main 13MP AutoFocus camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash, and the fingerprint sensor, which the company claims unlock devices in 0.3 second.
The device relies on a quad-core Mediatek MT6737T processor paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB built-in storage space, which is further expandable up to 256GB via microSD. It comes pre-loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat with Amigo 4.0 UI and backed by a long lasting 4,000mAh battery.
Available in Black and Gold colours, the Gionee X1s is expected to compete with the likes of the Oppo A57 and Nubia M2 with a price tag of Rs 12,999 (US$ 202). Gionee has also teamed up with Airtel to give users extra 10GB data every month for six (6) months on data recharge worth 1GB and more.
